Forté Health is a hospital specialising in short stay surgery, established to set a fresh benchmark for hospital and patient care in New Zealand through the implementation of a values-based healthcare model. It’s a fresh approach to medical care, delivered in New Zealand’s first net carbon zero hospital.
The three-story complex comprises a state-of-the-art four-theatre hospital, associated consulting practices and comprehensive support services tailored for both day clinic and surgical operations. This cutting-edge facility, operational since January 2014, has a dedicated workforce comprising 200 skilled professionals and is poised for significant expansion in the upcoming years.
To drive these exciting strategic initiatives forward, Forté Health were looking for a new Chief Executive Officer, specifically a values-based leader who is an accomplished executive with a demonstrated track record excelling in fostering innovative and transparent cultures, building effective teams, and exhibiting strong commercial and financial acumen to lead and manage growth across diverse domains.
Decipher Group partnered with the Forté Health Board as their executive search and recruitment partner for this critical role. And we are delighted to announce the appointment of Michael Woodhouse.
Following a long and successful career as an MP and Minister of the Crown, Michael has proven expertise in general management within the New Zealand health system including seven years as CEO at Mercy Hospital Dunedin.
Michael joined the team in April 2024.
