Southern Packers is looking for an exceptional Production Planner to join the organisation. Is this you? 

About the opportunity 

Reporting to the General Manager (GM), the Production Planner takes accountability in planning and coordinating the production of all Southern Packers’ products to a high standard, constantly focusing on continuous improvement and increased productivity. In doing this, the Production Planner will: 

  • Prepare the Grading and Autobagger programme and monitor and update it daily with an aim to create sufficient lead-time for orders to be processed
  • Communicate the programmes to internal and external stakeholders to ensure all parties are coordinated and working together to maximise production
  • Manage the inflow of stock, timely use of inventoried stock, grower bin usage & returns
  • Act as the first point of contact for customers and exporters to liaise around pack out details, order specifications and confirmations
  • Works with the Quality Control team leader to deliver consistent superior product quality and volume in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Driving improvements in cost, quality and productivity with the Quality Control team leader
  • Works with the Logistics Manager to ensure dispatch is well managed and runs smoothly and efficiently

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have experience in production/plant planning, preferably in a packhouse or food manufacturing environment. Along with your experience in production scheduling and inventory control, you will also have proficient computing skills, especially in Excel. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to manage the needs of multiple stakeholders. 

You will have a down to earth, approachable style and will know how to make things happen.  You will be able to demonstrate your capability through succcessful implementation of process improvements and your ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
