About the opportunity

Reporting to the General Manager, the People and Capability Manager will provide strategic leadership in key HR services and support across all areas of the organisation.  In doing this the People and Capability Manager will create and nurture an engaged and high performing work force and ensure people related policies and procedures are best practice. 

With the support of the Board of Directors and General Manager, the People and Capability Manager will drive and implement a people strategy that champions an internal culture and people processes that support Ashton Wheelans vision, values and strategy.

In doing this; the People and Capability Manager will: 

  • lead organisational development by developing, creating and implementing a workable people strategy;
  • provide human resources (HR) expertise (including health, safety and wellbeing), strategic insight and advice to the Board of Directors and General Manager;
  • lead and develop initiatives to support the building of sustainable people capability and engagement to assure the delivery of business objectives;
  • contribute as a high performing member of the Executive team.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will ideally hold a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and will have successfully developed your career through commercially focused HR roles. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to implement strategies that support business performance and you will pride yourself on your understanding of how to motivate and engage people for a business that has a diverse workforce across multiple sites.

A naturally energetic and positive person, people will describe you as a “go getter” and the person who always gets the job done.
