About the opportunity

Reporting to the Board and leading a leadership team spanning the Wonderland operation; the General Manager takes overall accountability for driving successful business performance. In doing this, the General Manager will: 

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership to the leadership team; ensuring the strategy and expectations are clear, business performance is measured and success is celebrated
  • Identify, develop and negotiate business opportunities by identifying strategic relationships to cultivate and nurture which will in turn increase visitor numbers and enhance overall business performance
  • Optimise operational efficiencies by ensuring processes and systems are effective and contribute to the objectives of the business
  • Actively manage the financial performance of the organisation – developing and achieving budgets

About you

To be successful in this role, you will be a commercially savvy, strategic thinker who has proven senior leadership experience, ideally within the food, beverage and accommodation industry. With a reputation for building strategic relationships – you will have a down to earth, approachable style and will know how to make things happen. 

Ideally you will be able to demonstrate your capability in driving profitable sales and operational excellence. You will have a strong commercial and financial understanding; be able to identify business drivers and be skilled in creating efficiencies within business processes.

Passionate about communities and socially conscious, people will describe you as an inspirational leader and compelling communicator.  You will know first-hand the benefits of positively engaging with and managing key relationships and you will enjoy acting as the public face of a community focused organisation.
