Christchurch-based employment agency, Decipher Group, is celebrating what they dub as the South Island’s change in migrant recruiting culture. There’s been a 15% increase in overseas applicants since the quakes. The agency’s CEO Leanne Crozier says people are taking them in.
“It’s been quite dramatic, we saw prior to the earthquake, less than 10% of the people that we were placing in executive and governance roles were coming outside of New Zealand. So that’s come up to around 35% now” says Leanne.
