Silver Fern Farms is a global leader in sustainable food production – with annual revenue in excess of $3bn, more than 6,000 employees, seven global hubs, 14 processing sites in New Zealand and exporting to over 60 global markets.
Like many large New Zealand employers, resolving the strategic challenge of attracting, developing and retaining a diverse and geographically widespread workforce is a high priority. In order to get in front of this constraint, Silver Fern Farms needed a visionary Chief People Officer with exceptional foundation skills and capability to lead multi-layered strategic thinking.
Following a long and successful provider partnership, Decipher Group were fortunate to have the opportunity to lead the executive search and recruitment process for this mission-critical role, which would join the highly capable Executive Committee reporting to the Chief Executive.
This was a rigorous and exhaustive search process for a highly sought after executive role, based at the Otago head office. Following a competitive and thorough recruitment process that included many amazing and ultra-skilled talent, Decipher Group are pleased to announce the appointment of Matt Carter to the role.
Matt has been a part of the Silver Fern Farms team since 2018, most recently in the role of Acting Chief People Officer.
A capable functional leader, Matt has a passion for the people space and a genuine interest for people. Along with his deep and broad understanding of the Silver Fern Farms business, people, challenges and operating methods – Matt will no doubt bring a refreshed approach to an impactful people strategy.
Matt officially commenced the role in June 2023.
